Keene, NH

Client:

Cheshire Housing Trust

An abandoned rail yard, along with an adjacent, underutilized and poorly developed public space, provided the focus of planning efforts for this ten acre site near the busy urban core of Keene, New Hampshire.  The proposed master plan will restore vitality and balance to the area, through thoughtful juxtaposition of mixed uses, including affordable and market rate housing, commercial office space, and retail, with a much needed green grocer being among the preferred retail uses.

Development offers the opportunity to provide desirable environmental and recreational amenities in the midst of a relatively dense urban setting.  Completion of a bicycle path, creation of a public gathering place with amphitheatre and skating rink, and establishment of a linear greenway will enrich both active and passive life in and around the site.
