Linden and Pleasant Streets

Elton + Hampton Architects provided planning services to this community based developer, to determine an economically viable, socially aware program for optimal use of this partially vacant and underutilized urban block.

The nearly two acre site contained an unoccupied monumental church building, a small, undistinguished office building, and surface parking.  The development plan, evolved through careful analysis of site characteristics, surrounding areas, and neighborhood vitality and needs, incorporated new retail and rental office areas, structured and surface parking, and one hundred and twenty mixed income rental and condominium living units.  Reconstruction and adaptive reuse was proposed for the church building, with a variety of possible occupants.
