Client: United Residents in Academy Homes II (URIAH)

In a joint venture with Chia-Ming Sze Architects, Elton + Hampton Architects participated in the HUD Demonstration Disposition plan for this extensive but blighted residential complex, resulting in the rebuilding of an entire new low rise residential community.   The project involved the design of 236 units of new affordable family housing, and included the design of a focal community building, on a prominent Roxbury site near Egleston Square.  Site organization takes advantage of terrain and rock outcroppings to create a variety of smaller residential neighborhoods with central green areas, providing residents with a sense of security and belonging.
