Constructed in two phases, these attractive, homelike, non-institutional buildings provide thirty-five units of transitional housing for individuals recently released from mental health institutions, with common social areas to encourage a variety of social interactions, and related support space.

The buildings, designed to harmonize with turn-of-the-century surroundings, were constructed using a modular building system.  This approach produced a 20% construction cost savings over conventional construction, and 95% erection within eight days.
